Two weeks old

The fog is lifting

Two weeks later... I'm finally feeling like "myself" again. Stephen is two weeks old and, although a sleeping pattern has not yet been established, the fact that he is SO EASYGOING makes things very, very tolerable. Even when I get up with him at night (sometimes 3 or 4 times), it doesn't stress me out because he just eats and falls sweetly back to sleep. Knock on wood, he is very content and easy to be with.

The other two angels are adapting well. Miss Connie's mom passed away so they have had a substitute at daycare all week and Macy seems a little stressed about that but we're working through it. Nicky could care less. As long as there are toys to play with, he's good.

And Mike and I are, well, getting through it. We're tired and we miss each other a lot (if you know what I mean). We're patiently waiting the requisite six weeks. We keep telling each other, someday things will be back to normal...

Pictures to come... I still have to download and edit.

Welcome Stephen James!!

After all my talk, he's finally here. We went in for the induction last Wednesday, January 10, as planned. Were set up with Pitocin at 9:00, hit hard by contractions by 10:30, epidural at 11:30, baby at 12:27. I'm in the middle of my second day at home with him. The kids are resuming life as normal at daycare and boy is it quiet. Stephen is a very good baby. He's content, only making small fussy sounds when he's hungry or poopy. Otherwise, he's asleep or lying happily in my arms. I'm feeling fine, a little sore around the middle still and feeling lazy, but fine nonetheless. I'm thankful everything went so well, that Stephen is here and healthy most of all. He's absolutely perfect and changing everyday so much that I can't get a firm grip on who he looks like. Time will tell, I'm sure. Posted by Picasa
We were so lucky to have Grandma Sandy here through it all. Posted by Picasa
Big sis took charge quickly. Posted by Picasa
Big brother was very proud, too. Posted by Picasa
And in the midst of it all, Nicky turned 2! Here he is with his football cake. He was so touched during the "happy birthday" song, he actually cried. He's my sensitive one. Posted by Picasa
All three of 'em. I'm blessed. Posted by Picasa

No baby yet, but....

I am seeing light at the end of this tunnel! Friday was my last day of work and I've taken today and tomorrow off. We are scheduled to induce on Wednesday, January 10!!!!!! I am right now 4 cm dilated and 80% effaced so things should (hopefully) go quick and smoothly on Wednesday. Mom is flying down Tuesday night all by herself - a first for her! Hopefully she'll have a nice smooth trip and make more in the future.

I think I've gotten everything ready. We've spent the past week putting up the Christmas stuff and bringing down the baby stuff from the attic. We've also been doing a lot of rearranging, decluttering and decorating the house after consultation from an interior decorator in the hopes of increasing our sales potential of this house! Geesh, it's going to look so nice we won't want to leave!

You will hear more from me next week with baby and birth info.
