A New Love
Most notable today was my phone discussion with the regional director with Bridges to Life. I'm feeling called to volunteer my time and talents to what I think is an awesome program. My first step on this journey will be attending a graduation ceremony next week at the Beto Prison in Palestine Texas. I'm looking forward to this next challenge, I'm hopeful to make a difference and am thankful for Mike's support. More to come on this endeavor but remember me in your prayers.
Work's going great. Another goal is going to become reality in a couple weeks as I was asked to lead a four-hour Myers-Briggs workshop. I am so EXCITED about this and those of you who know me well know why. I'm passionate about MBTI and it is one of my favorite topics of conversation. Unfortunately, there are not many people who share the passion. But now I at least have four hours to discuss the subject. yay for me!
Goodbye for now.
Monday
A little more "normal" today. Oh. I'm forgetting you know nothing about my gallbladder surgery last week. Yes, it's true. I'm fine and it was really no big deal. My favorite part was the two days in bed required afterwards with wonderful sleep-inducing painkillers. And during the periods of semi-consciousness, I laid in bed, read magazines and watched TV - wonderful!!
But back to the present... I had quite a normal day at work. Once home, Mike and I sat in our lawn chairs in the driveway with our beers and watched Macy and Nick scoot around on their bikes. Stephen watched from his stroller. Then they played in the dark back yard with the "mommymonster" while Mike made supper. Nightly viewing of "The Naked Brothers Band" and off to sleep for them all.
Sorry I don't have more to tell but this is my life these days. Plus, I hate to admit that I'm not in the writing mood. I hope it hits soon because I have so much to document in words...
back at it
ah, I'm back. We finally got a new computer and dsl hookup at home. I'm excited to begin posting again, yet a bit shy... I feel like I've forgotten how!
Instead of trying to catch you up on the past couple of months, I'm going to start fresh. I new goal of mine is to spend most of my time in the moment, with some allotted time for looking forward and a smaller amount of time for looking back. It's backwards from my traditional way of thinking which has always been relishing the past and anxious for the future. I need to begin enjoying THE NOW. It will be hard but worth the effort.
so... RIGH NOW, I am sitting at my computer, my children are nestled in their beds, exhausted from their day and my husband is lying on the couch channel-surfing. Yes, i am relishing our day - we spent most of it at our friend's house for a bbq cook-off between Mike and a co-worker. Mike smoked ribs and his competition, Phil, smoked brisket. Everyone ate too much, drank just enough and were able to enjoy the company while the kids spent their time running in their huge backyard and riding bikes & scooters in the driveway. Stephen - new at crawling just this week, practiced in the living room with the ladies oohing and aahing.
I'm thankful for the day and the time I have now to document it forever. I look forward to relaxing in bed and a fresh start to the new week. The holidays are approaching and there is so much to look forward to.
Shots from August
I really can't believe it's been so long... August has come and gone. I have been very busy at work with lots of new responsibilities in accordance with my development plan. I'm enjoying mapping things out and feel like I have a lot to back me up when I'm ready to really sell myself.
Otherwise, things on the homefront are good. I'm enjoying my family time and only wish there were a little bit left of me for my husband after work and the kids. Unfortunately, he's usually last in line and I need to do some re-arranging to change that - more plans and maps to make....
Here are just a few shots from August...

Life is Good
Otherwise, my life has been going so wonderfully it's almost scary. My hubby went through the highly permanent yet much needed vasectomy last week. He is still moving very slow but is recovering nicely. In a way, I am sad that we will now definitely not have any more kids, but we do really need to stop. We're not getting any younger and we're running out of space! Besides, I'm ready to focus on the three children I have and put my all into raising them properly - so they're not someday returned defective:)
And so in keeping with the "life is so very good" theme, I am off to my 6:00 massage...
I've been featured!

I've recently been featured in the Alliance Newsletter for using their backup care options. Here's the article with my quote...
Otherwise, not a lot of news here. I'm very behind on my posting. Stephen is nearly ready to move into Nicky's room and at that time, I will have my office space back - my goal then is to invest in a new computer, desk and a comfy chair so I get back to more regular and insightful posting - I really don't want to abandon this site and really, really need to start writing again. I have so much to say!
Memorial Day Weekend...
