Mike and I just returned from a four day trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. We journeyed for my good friend, Cami's wedding on the beach. This is the view from our upstairs cabana. Posted by Picasa
Thursday night was girls night out for the personal shower. We hung out at the resort bar, drank virgin pina coladas (okay, just me and Cami) and watched the bride open distasteful gifts. Posted by Picasa
Cami's parents graciously rented this Catamaran for the day on Friday. We sailed for a few hours, stopped to snorkel and played on a remote beach before returning to Shangrila. Posted by Picasa

Mike in the midst of his scuba time. He felt like he was "at home with his brothers" amongst the beautiful fish. It didn't come as natural to me. I sucked in salt water, had trouble breathing through my tube, felt clausterphobic and had mild panic attacks most of the time, but I did get to see some pretty fish. Posted by Picasa

A glimpse of fifth street - Playa del Carmen. We spent a couple hours shopping and lunching Saturday morning and afternoon. It was dreadfully hot but fans abounded. For a short time, we even got to be a part of the Mexico v. Argentina World Cup viewing which livened up the area bars. Posted by Picasa
Finally... the wedding! It was very beautiful, as you can see. Posted by Picasa
And us... afterward the wedding. Cooling down on the beach. Later we receptioned and the following morning it was back to reality. Our travels home were very smooth except for our missing luggage in Tyler. Alas, the next day both pieces came in unscathed. We were thrilled to see our kids. It seemed as if they may have grown even over just three days. I had taken Monday off and spent the day with them. I enjoyed every minute of it and couldn't stop thinking how beautiful they were. The trip was wonderful, being along with my husband was wonderful, and returning to my beautiful children was wonderful. All's well. Posted by Picasa

Tomorrow morning Mike and I are outta here - off to Playa del Carmen, MX for my friend, Cami's beach wedding at the shangrila-caribe. Mike's wonderful sister, Mary, is flying down from Omaha to watch the kiddos. We are so excited for the getaway, however, I do hold the motherly worries of leaving my babies. I guess that's okay.

Tune in next week for more pictures...

Perfection

Here's baby no. 3's first photo. No matter how many times you get a "first" glimpse at your child, it remains one of the most amazing feelings in the world. We saw this little peanut moving around, saw a little arm bud go up and down and the little heart beat. I had a strong feeling that it's a girl - can't explain it. My mom agrees.

It's hard to believe we had no plans for this and were actually planning against it. Thank God for his wisdom - I love this child so much already. Posted by Picasa

Pool Fun!

Haven't been taking too many pictures lately but here's one of Macy and I in our front yard on June 4 after Mass. It was on this day that I was received into the church - finally - after 14 months! The other big news is my ever expanding belly - yes, I'm pregnant, not just off the diet. I'm quite big for only being 8 weeks though. I've been nauseus and tired but the last couple of days have been slightly better...

In anticipation of our growing family, we have put the house up for sale and will be moving into a larger place just as soon as this one sells... I'm dreading the actual act of moving, but am excited nonetheless...

Happy (belated) Memorial Day!!!

We spent our holiday weekend around the neighborhood. Friday night we swam at the neighbor's brand new in-ground pool; Saturday, Sunday and Monday we were at home. We played outside a lot and ate a lot of good food. Mike bbq'd and created the world's best rack of ribs - yum! We also ate lots of fresh fruit. Macy couldn't get enough of the "tasty yellow stuff" (pineapple) - also my favorite. I wasn't feelin' so hot, so staying around the house was fine by me. Hope you all had a great weekend... Posted by Picasa
Nicky's rose bush... I remember taking the kids to Hughe's plant farm last year when Nick was just a couple months old. We picked out this bush just for him. Posted by Picasa
Aren't these pretty. I forget the name of these flowers but I planted them for Macy last year right outside her window. They're still going strong! Posted by Picasa

And this is how sweet nicky ended his weekend. So tired, he couldn't even finish his graham crackers. Posted by Picasa
